Katie Powers, RD
Katie grew up in Gastonia, North Carolina and attended the University of Tennessee receiving her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Nutrition. Prior to joining RHGYNOB she worked for 15 years as the clinic dietitian at the UNC Charlotte Student Health Center. Her experiences in the 12 years prior to that include clinical hospital and long term care. Katie enjoys being outside – hiking or walking with her dogs, working in the yard and potting seasonal flowers.
My favorite thing about food is how food fuels every cell in our body and provides nourishment to support our physical and mental health and wellbeing. I love teaching and also continuing to learn how our physical and mental health are closely connected and how food can support optimal holistic wellness. My favorite thing to make in the kitchen is homemade soup of any kind – especially when I can make it entirely from ingredients I already have.
